Good Hygiene Toiletries Drive with Squeaky Clean Kids

In line with Squeaky Clean Kids' mission of providing environmental and hygiene education, a good hygiene toiletries drive was initiated with the help of The Good Store.
Drop-off points were set up initially in BGC and Makati CBD, then later on in Quezon City due to popular demand for a collection point in that area as well. The response was overwhelming!

It turns out several folks were able to relate to that very Filipino habit of collecting hotel toiletries when travelling but winding up keeping them stashed at home.
In just a couple of weeks of calling for donations, we were able to gather more than a hundred toothbrushes, 46 solid soap bars, 30 shampoo & conditioner bottles, 20 slippers, and so much more:good hygiene
Some even donated full-sized toiletries!
School supplies and toys were also among the donations, as this run was for the kids of the Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm in Angat, Bulacan. However, the team deemed it more urgent to send this first batch of donated items over to folks donated by Typhoon Mangkhut in Cagayan.
The good hygiene mission also had to be pushed back from its original schedule, but the good news was that this meant more time to collect more donations. On September 30, Dr. Winston of Squeaky Clean Kids and his team of volunteers were able to visit the GK Enchanted Farm to distribute hygiene kits and play with the children there.
Almost 75 kids attended the event, learned good hygiene habits, enjoyed some arts and crafts, then happily went home with their loot.
This fun and meaningful event for the kids and their parents would not have been possible without the generous donations of unused toiletries we've been able to collect, so a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you!
If you'd like to keep helping Squeaky Clean Kids in their mission, here are two ways you can go about it:
First is you can gather your unused toiletries at home or from friends and family then get in touch with us through Facebook or Instagram for drop-off/delivery details.
You can also follow Squeaky Clean Kids on social media to stay updated on their bazaar schedule as they also accept toiletries donations in their booths.
Another way is to support the organic soap bars, as well as shampoo and conditioner bars (Hi, zero waste advocates!) of Squeaky Clean Kids available right here.
